Summary:

Heavens Recruitment are working with a great Fleet company based in Stevenage.

They are urgently seeking an Accounts Payable Team Leader, responsible for the accounts paybale function and supporting a junior member, this will be a great opportunity to take that next step in your career or providing a stable work environment.

 

This position will ensure invoices are accurately processed through the purchase ledger for the group and paid in a timely manner, whilst maintaining supplier records and following company procedures.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Full ownership of accounts payable ledger

  • Managing an Accounts Payable Clerk, including delivery reviews

  • Ensure all suppliers payments and customer refunds are paid within the company’s payment terms

  • Ensure invoices are matched to POs and other departments use the PO system as required

  • Resolve queries with the business

  • Complete credit application forms and ensure the supplier terms are adhere to

  • General purchase ledger and banking journals as required within the scope of the role

  • Provide training and support to the wider business as required to assist the Financial Controller as required

  • Ensure all payments are allocated correctly on the supplier accounts and debit balances are resolved

  • Reconciliation of supplier statements

  • Creating new supplier accounts as instructed ensuring all checks have been done

  • Ensure that systems evolve and are configured to meet the changing needs of the business

  • Identify opportunities for systems improvements, develop business cases and implement as appropriate

 

Requirements:

  • Previous experience managing/supervising a team would be advantageous

  • A background in the accounts payable funtion

  • Strong and adaptable communication skills and the ability to build good relationship

  • Able to use own initiative with working projects and day to day tasks

  • The applicant must be able to work independently, organise their workload and when necessary and take instructions from Senior Finance

  • Able to work as part of a team

  • Good Excel knowledge
