Project Accountant

Summary:

Our client is a privately owned group of companies which offers a diverse range of services to customers throughout the UK. Founded by two successful entrepreneurs the business has grown rapidly by making complementary acquisitions and developing new services to meet market demands. Operating in a buoyant technology space they have recently completed a successful round of external fundraising and now have in excess of £120m of capital to deploy on a major infrastructure project.

The Finance Director is now looking to recruit an ambitious finalist or recently qualified CIMA / ACCA / ACA Accountant to oversee the financial reporting and forecasting requirements for this roll out whilst also providing general support to the Finance Department.

Responsibilities:

• Cash control and financial reporting to deadlines

• Cashflow analysis and forecasting, investigating variances

• Partnering with procurement and operational teams

• Preparation of KPI’s and performance metrics

• Monitoring WIP and controlling spend / costs

A key part of this role will involve quickly establishing processes and controls to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of reporting to both the Finance Director and external stakeholders. The business is scaling up rapidly and you must be comfortable taking ownership and driving the implementation of new reporting systems where necessary. Whilst you will have guidance from the FD a strong self-starter would suit this opportunity, someone who can communicate confidently with other departments and provide financial support and analysis. Good experience with Excel and SAGE would be very advantageous.
